THE LAND FOR US

Access to Food, Skills to Provide

At the core of our support model is the understanding that our community members need avenues to fresh produce and the skills to tend to the land. Through nutritional workshops and hands-on agricultural experiences, we will teach the community how to care for themselves as well as plant vegetables and fruit. We maintain a plot of land that has a community garden, and work with community members to identify qualified volunteer workshop facilitators.

GIVING THE WORD

Building Literacy, Supporting Spirituality

The Children of She has a developing network of community partners that include recruitment and internship opportunities at a local college. We recruit local graduates to facilitate literacy support and development initiatives which include a spiritual study cohort. Adults and youth are divided into separate cohorts and paired in groups based on their literacy-skills and abilities.

HELPING THE CHILDREN

Critical Supplies, Essential Support

The Children of She also maintains a coordinated community outreach program that includes critical item support (distribution of food, clothes, etc.) and volunteer mobilization. We do this with the understanding that while community members are working towards improving their economic condition, access to supplies in order to offset their costs as they build their finances is also essential.
